Leigh RMI are set to sign Whittaker!
By Webmaster
October 11 2002
Chester winger Stuart Whittaker looks certain to leave the Deva Stadium in search of first team football at Leigh Railway Mechanics Institute after impressing whilst on loan.

Whittaker was one of Mark Wright’s first signings when he joined Chester midway through last season. Whittaker deserves a lot of prays for his commitment and certainly helped keep City in the Nationwide Conference last season.

Stuart has found it extremely difficult to retain his place in the first team this season after the 13 summer signing made by Mark Wright. He went on loan to Leigh and has impressed manager Steve Waywell and a permanent move is in the pipeline.

Waywell explained how Whittaker “has gave Leigh another dimension”. A deal cannot be made until Stuart’s loan ends. With just one game remaining on his loan deal and Chester manager Mark Wright agreeing to sell the player, it looks almost certain that Stuart Whittaker will sign for the Railwaymen next week.
