Darlington feilded a side without influential Dutch striker Clyde Wjihnard, but managed to put five past te home side. Even with the rain pouring down, Darlingon manager David Hodgson said he felt comfortable in the dugout watching his side play.
Adrian Webster was the first to get on the score sheet, followed by Akpo Sodjes disallowed effort, whose hard work and good attitude has impressed manager David Hodgson during pre-season. Sodje netted again just after the break and then Matt Clarke took advantage of a well worked free kick to score his second of pre-season. There was still time for Stephen Thomas to rocket a free-kick home and Guylan Ndumbu-Nsungu to score from off the bench.
The win will boost the confidence of the players and fans ahead of the start of a brand new season, which kicks off on 6th August 3.00pm, when Quakers will play against Rushden & Diamonds who just avoided relegation to the Conference last year.
