David Hodgson has performed a mass exodus on a long list of trialists, leaving just two at the club.
Anthony Peacock and Nathan Bailey have been given the green light by the Quakers' boss, whilst it appears the likes of Jamie Cade and Andy Ferrell- both of whom have impressed in pre-season - will not have a future at Darlington.
It is most likely the two remaining players will have the friendlies against Leeds United (tomorrow evening), Middlesbrough and Bradford City to prove they are worth a full-time contract.
