Jamie Shore's knee injury was just way too serious and he has had to hang up his boots for the last time.
He was told as a 17 year old that he would never play football again but kept trying to prove them wrong and he earned himself a contract at Norwich City before signing for Rovers.
The former England youth international was the first ever sportsman to have a cartilage transplant in his knee, in the summer of 1999. In three years Jamie has had 10 operations and as hard as it was to make the decision to call it a day he knows it's right one.
Jamie signed for the Gas in 1998 and made his league debut against Chesterfield. Many gasheads saw him as being a real prospect for the future but unfortunately it wasn't to be.
He has vowed to keep supporting the Rovers as he has many friends here who have helped him through such a tough period in his life.

Good luck Jamie - You will be missed.
