Up to date look at average league crowds which shows that Cardiff City have 42 teams with better home support than they do... Do the public of South Wales want a successful football team?

With the home season now over and Cardiff having just completed their third season back in second tier of the Football pyramid, it is worth having another look at how our crowds our standing up. I've taken out any reference to Scotland so the teams in the table all compete in the "English" league. We will finish in our best position for many years but the crowds have deserted us.

In our first season back at this level we averaged 15,569; this dropped to 12,976 last season and this has fallen to 11,720 in 2005-2006. Four thousand fans have vanished in three years!
