WOLVES boss Glenn Hoddle was delighted after his sides 5-1 demolition of Chester City on Tuesday. Hoddle gave four players their debuts, with every player impressing.

For Glenn Hoddle the win over Chester could not have been any better. The Wolves boss made huge changes from the side expecting to play away at Cardiff on Saturday, gave four players debuts and gave two long-term injury casualties a run out. All of that and his side won 5-1, possibly a perfect night for the boss.

Hoddle gave debut starts to teenage 'keeper Carl Ikeme, teenage sensation Mark Davies, Hungarian International defender Gabor Gyepes and new signing Darren Anderton.

In truth the score line could - and possibly should - have been more, but any more than five would have been harsh on the visitors who's brave first half display saw Wolves with a slender single goal advantage.

GOAL: (6)Kenny Miller:  A cross from the left finds Anderton who's miss-control allows Kenny Miller to hammer home, with the aid of a small deflection, from close range.

Chester boss and former Wolves favourite Keith Curle played two in attack during the second half as apposed to the one he played in the first half and for 15 minutes it appeared to work. Chester looked more adventurous, without testing Ikeme once, but just after the hour mark Wolves were to turn their huge dominance into goals.

GOAL: (62) Colin Cameron: A wonderful run and ball from Davies found Cameron on the right who lifted the ball into the top left corner.

Wolves were hungry and the impressive Anderton was given time on the ball to show what a good signing he could prove to be.

GOAL: (72) Darren Anderton: Darren Anderton strikes a 25 yard free kick which flies through the 'keepers hands and into the net.

Wolves fans then got the chance to see two men who have been missing for over three years between them. First it was George Ndah who replaced Ki-Hyeon Seol and then Romanian International Vio Ganea replaced - to a standing ovation - Leon Clarke.

GOAL: (74) Colin Cameron: The Scottish Midfielder cuts into the box and hammers high into the roof of the net from ten yards.

GOAL: (79) Vio Ganea: Great work from Edwards on the right found Cameron who dinked a lovely ball into the path of Vio Ganea who scored his first goal since his last appearance - against Newcastle in the Premiership in May 2004.

The visitors snatched one back with a well-taken free kick late on but Wolves dominance had turned into goals, the debutants had done their jobs and the strikers looked sharp.

Through to round two.
