October 28 2017

Wolves will be looking to regain top spot after Sheffield United claimed it last night thanks to a 2-1 victory over Leeds. Wolves have a good record at QPR and hope to continue that today.

Match Facts

  • QPR have won just one of their last 13 league matches against Wolves at Loftus Road - 1-0 in December 2008 courtesy of a Martin Rowlands goal.
  • Despite that good form Wolves have never won Back to Back games away at QPR.
  • Wolves have lost just one of their last eight league games played in London - and are unbeaten in their last four visits to the capital.
  • Only Brentford (129) have had more shots in home Championship games this season than QPR (112).
  • Leo Bonatini has scored seven league goals this season - three with his right foot and three with his left foot. But he has scored only once away from home.
  • The Hoops have lost 10 points from leading positions this season. Only Brentford (14) have dropped more.

Obviously, it goes without saying that a win would be great (?!) however with the Blades winning at Leeds last night and going top, it is an opportunity for us to put some distance between us and the chasers, then look to see what Cardiff do.

It’s genuinely great to have some enthusiasm back about this team when you start a Saturday nervous about the result and looking at the permutations of other results. I am desperate about us getting back on the top spot, nevertheless Holloways sides can really blow hot and cold at the best of times. Hope they demonstrate sub zero form today!

UTW!

The fact that Leeds let us down last pm to allow Sheffield Utd to go top puts some unnecessary pressure on us, but I don’t think Nuno will allow that to be mentioned in the changing room.

I think our first team should be good enough to get a result today, and - no mistake a
1 - 0 win will do - but I also agree with Ivy that Holloway’s experience and know-how could cause us problems. I expect us to be top of the table again by 5:30pm

Usual team this afternoon. Bonatini starts up front with Cav and Jota - Costa on the bench.
Here we go

Coady & Batth in the heart of defence after their 120 minutes against City midweek

Ten minutes gone & nothing to report, bar a couple of needless free kicks given away by Wolves which have come to nothing.

City couldn't vscore against us in 120 minutes but they've put one past Albion already!!!

Wolves struggling to settle so far. QPR getting away with several aggressive tackles - arms in faces etc

Wolves can't get into their stride yet. Being very closely marked by Rangers. Jota has the first real opportunity but puts it well wide.

Promising break by Wolves ends when Doc takes the ball off Leo's foot!! QPR still getting away with the rough stuff

Almost a goal from Douglas's but he slipped. Ref starting to dish out cards to QPR.

Light is going and painting over for the day!

Fingers crossed for a better second half display - 3,194 Wolves fans there! We’re kicking towards them now too

Let's hope that, like Cullis, Nuno has got the whip out at half time.

Freeman shot deflected on to Wolves bar after more sloppy defending. Not playing as well as we expect today. Costa being lined up, probably to replace Cav who can be quite lazy in his play

Cav goes down in pen area after an arm round him, but gets nothing. He should have done better

QPR should have scored but put header wide. Leo being replaced by Bright - hope he's got over the City game!!

Ruddy drops the ball, but Coady clears Washington' effort of the line, also clashing heads with Batth who comes off it worst

Gibbs-White has at least scored for England in the U17 World Cup Final. From 2-0 down, currently 3-2 up.

In not surprised at the result at all today, we took our eye off the ball (excuse the pun), the mickey mouse League Cup was a massive distraction. The same thing happened last year, at one stage we looked play off material but then the FA cup came along and our League campaign went pear shaped.
You couldnt turn on sky sports during the week without seeing a reference to the city v wolves game.
Lets hope we get hammered in the third round of the FA cu this year, otherwise we could blow a real chance of promotion.

Thanks for all the reporting everyone ,- obviously disappointed but there's a long way to go yet and there's bound to be blips. Great U17 win! Onwards and upwards!
