Wolves host Newcastle United looking to complete a League double over the league leaders. Wolves will need to put in the kind of performance they did when they beat them 2-0 at St James Park eralier on in the season.

Match Facts

Wolves' 2-0 win against Newcastle in September was their first over the Magpies in the league since April 1993.

Championship leaders Newcastle have failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last 11 games against Wolves.

Helder Costa has been involved in 12 goals in his last 12 appearances in all competitions for 18th-placed Wolves (six goals/six assists).

Newcastle have won 10 of their last 11 Championship games played on a Saturday. Their last three defeats have come on a Monday (twice) and a Friday.

Matt Ritchie has scored four goals in his last three Championship games, as many as he scored in his first 24 league appearances for the Magpies.

Seven of his eight league goals have come at St James' Park. But he scored a late winner at Molineux in a controversial game of two home red cards, with his previous club Bournemouth in December 2014.

Wolves have a good record over Newcastle during the second month of the year. They have won six times and drew four of the eleven meetings.

Wolves last did a league double over Newcastle in the 91/92 season. Bull & Steele scored in a 2-1 away win while Mutch (3), Bennett, Cook & Bull scored in a 6-2 home win.

Head To Head

Games won: 39
Games drawn: 23

Score line at Brighton currently looks as though it could fire up the Toon. Hope it has the reverse effect

Rubbish game, Ref made one or two errors yes but we had to wait until the 86th minute for a shot on target. Woeful stuff.

Quite a few thoughts having seen them in the flesh but no time to write them!

Very disappointing but not as desperate as some of the sh$te I witnessed last season.

We need points and fast, Wigan has become a massive match now.

Frustrating stuff but glad to be back. They never seem to win my birthday week!!
