First Two Are On Their Way
By Tom Bason January 10 2008
Wolves today are poised to confirm their first two signings of the January transfer window, with Plymouth striker Sylvain Ebanks-Blake and Luton midfielder David Edwards set to move to Molineux. Wolves have agreed terms with the respective clubs, but are still to agree terms with the individual players.

Wolves have agreed to match Ebanks-Blake's £1.5M release fee clause, and are in discussions with the player and his agent, although whether Ebanks-Blake will have a similar release fee in his Wolves contract remains to be seen. Ebanks Blake has already hit 6 goals for the Pilgrims this season, boasting an impressive record of 21 goals in 49 starts for Plymouth. He is seen as a different type of striker to the current crop, boasting blistering and great strength, as well as an apparent eye for goal.

Wolves other 'almost' signing is Luton midfielder Dave Edwards, who impressed in front of Sky's camera's against Liverpool in the FA Cup on Sunday. A deal is in place with Luton's administrators and it is thought to be significantly higher than the £170,000 offer from Nottingham Forest last week for the player. Edwards is a central midfield player, with an eye for goal, having scored 4 goals in 18 League starts for the Bedfordshire club.
