Wolves v Coventry Preview

Jay Bothroyd
By Tom Bason October 5 2007
On Saturday, Wolves face Coventry on the back of two consecutive draws. The question on everyone’s lips is ‘who will start upfront’. On Tuesday, Keogh and Elliott worked hard but never looked like breaking down a strong and well organised Leicester defence. Eastwood came on with 20 minutes to go, but failed to impress McCarthy.

There have been some calls for Bothroyd and Eastwood to come in for Elliott and Henry, with Keogh dropping into an attacking midfield position.  To play without a recognised defensive minded player in the midfield, as none of Olofinjana, Kightly or Ward are, would be virtual suicide against a strong Coventry side.  If Mick was tempted to drop Keogh back into a midfield role, surely it would have to be Olofinjana dropping out of the team, with Karl Henry anchoring the midfield, allowing Keogh, Kightly and Ward to get forward and support the two strikers.  As it is, I expect the team to be the same that started against Leicester, with the only possible change being the slightly more offensive minded Darren Potter coming in for Karl Henry, to help us break down a stubborn Coventry defence.

Coventry News

Coventry have lost just one of their six away games so far this season, and are hoping that Michael Hughes, Robert Page, Julian Gray and Ellery Cairo will all be fit to take part in Saturday’s match

I have little confidence in us at the moment and I think there is problems in the camp.Maybe Mick doent like the new owner or maybe he is just making some wrong judgements I cant work it out but right from the first ball this season and I have seen every game home and away I have struggled with some decisions.

Lets hope in wrong but I feel we are being let down at the moment and for all those who think away draws are good results we should beat the likes of Leicester and PLymouth it is them that should be pleased that they have drawn against one of the biggest clubs in the country.
