Wolves v Hull Preview

The Welsh Van Basten
By Tom Bason September 17 2007
Tomorrow, Wolves face Hull City, in what surely, even at this stage of the season can be classed as a ‘must win’. On the back of a decent performance, but ultimately a defeat on Saturday, Wolves are now a full five points behind League leaders Watford.

Solidity at the back has been a problem.  Wayne Hennessey, fine young goalkeeper that he is, has kept just one clean sheet in a Wolves shirt, and a second shut out of the season will definitely be welcomed tomorrow. Since Hull’s promotion to the Championship, Wolves have won 3 out of the 4 meetings, with only last season’s poor, poor performance at Hull in the defeats column, probably our worst performance of the season.

Wolves have all 11 that played on Saturday fit and ready to go, while Freddy Eastwood should be ready to return to the starting 11, if selected alongside Andy Keogh.  Keogh himself has provoked debates already this season, regarding the numbers of goals he actually scores, but he gets himself into the positions, and sooner or later the goals will come.

Prediction: A tight, scrappy 1-0 win

I hope we scrape 2-0, but 1-0 or 2-1 sound more realistic.

Good article.

I would play Elliot and Eastwood upfront with Keoghjust behind thoser two. You cant not play Eastwood and not play Elliot as he scored on Saturday.

Sadly though I predict a 1-1 draw sad smiley

im sad to say i think it will be 1-2, Hull are a decent side and have bought in some good players, Folan is a quality signing for them and will cause us problems
