NUFC About To Confirm Signing of Wijnaldum: Player Profile

By Magpies
July 10 2015

Newcastle appear to be 90% on their way to signing someone….finally! In what has been a busy day for the transfer window, with medicals taking place up and down the country, Newcastle have completed the medical of Georginio Wijnaldum.

The 24 year old Dutch International is expected to be unveiled by the club as their first signing of the summer exclusively to the clubs preferred media later on this evening/tomorrow.

Last season Wijnaldum made 33 appearances for PSV last season and scored 14 goals. He moved to PSV for 5million Euros but has commanded a fee of 20million Euros to move to Tyneside.

The midfielder will be Steve McLaren’s first signing as manager but the club are rumoured to be in talks with at least 4 other players so hopefully this is a sign of things to come.
