Cisse Could Miss Sunderland Derby Through International Duty
By Tyne-Talk
February 16 2012
Papiss Demba Cisse could miss more Premier League football later this month after being called up for a Senegal friendly. The match which sits between Newcastle’s next game against Wolves and the derby game against Sunderland couldn’t have come at a worse time.

Senegal will play Bafana Bafana (aka South Africa) on Wednesday 29th February in an evening kick off and Cisse will travel without his strike partner Demba Ba, who has not been called up for the game. Former International manager Amara Traore was sacked following his sides departure from the African Cup of Nations after finishing at the bottom of their group, pointless and coaches Karim Sega Diouf and Aliou Cisse have filled the manager position on a temporary basis and have picked the squad for this upcoming friendly. The game was officially confirmed on 6th February by the South African Football Association.

The call up could mean that Cisse misses the derby game on the 4th March, depending on how quickly he gets back on Tyneside.

Ridiculous. Maybe they should, you know, take a look at other players than those who just played in the tourney? And there's another ACON next year? WTF?

This is a f@cking joke, how can they have him for the tournament then want him again so quickly. I think the governing body need to start looking when teams have games and how many.

I understand that every country wants to play the best players, but the club spends massive amounts on transfer fees and wages, and they need to be available as often as you can for your club.
