Best Out For The Season
By Tyne-Talk
February 9 2012
Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has confirmed striker Leon Best could be out for the rest of the season, and he will not be rushing him back. The 25 year old picked up a knee injury against Aston Villa on Sunday and will be out for at least three months, but its likely to be longer after he was diagnosed with medial ligament damage.

Pardew said;

"I think it will be very doubtful if we will see him again this season. And that is a blow for us because he has been great.

We have lost three or four players to long term injuries. We have been a little bit unlucky losing Steven Taylor, Sylvain Marveaux, Sammy Ameobi and now Leon, so we have been unlucky on that front.

I think he's doubtful for the rest of the season, because of the type of injury it is. The question is would I rush him back, would I need him back, and with the team I've got. Possibly not."

Marveaux is pretty much out for the rest of the season too, and Saylor.

Loaning Vuckic shows a lot of confidence in Shola and Loven. I hope it's not misplaced.

True. I hope Vuckic gets some time there. We've got enough here for now.

Providing Cisse and BA stay fit, I doubt Best would have got much game time
