Murphy
The first half was a poor affair with both sides cancelling each other out on the whole. Having said that there were a couple of early chances with Driver seeing a long range shot saved by Randolph, and Law sliding a shot wide for Well.
On 20 minutes a Humphrey cross picked outJenningsbut his shot was well saved by Kello. 12 minutes later another Humphrey cross picked out Murphy but the striker could only head over.
Randolphmade an outstanding save just before the break when he was quick off his line to get a hand up to prevent Driver from clipping the ball over him.
The second half burst into life only five minutes after the re-start when Ian Black was shown a straight red for wild tackle on Keith Lasley. This was no more than he deserved.
Motherwell capitalised on the extra man with ten minutes, Saunders slid a perfect through ball for Law who clipped the ball square to Muprhy who kept his composure to stroke past Kello.
It was all Motherwell for most of the second half and they could have made it more but had to endure a frustrating closing spell when they were reduced to ten men when Keith Lasley was shown a second yellow.
This was a fantastic three points that keeps the early season run going and gives the side a platform for the rest of the season. It was also a win that was built on terrific team spirit, with Tom Hateley being my Man of the Match for his ability to go forward and also not neglecting his defensive duties.
