Jennings
Motherwell were forced to play without the injured Michael Higdon who was replaced by the young Bob McHugh. This forced Motherwell into playing a different style all together with little height in the side at either end of the pitch.
Bell’s two saves came either side of half time, the first was to prevent McHugh opening the scoring on 44 minutes. The young striker had combined with Murphy to open up the Killie defence and McHugh’s rising shot was tipped over by Bell.
He produced a better save a minute after the re-start, Steven Jennings sent a bullet of a shot towards the postage stamp corner and the ball looked to be heading in. That was until Bell somehow got across diving to his left to turn the ball wide for a corner.
Motherwell made the other good chance of the match, Nicky Law was clean through and was just about to chip the ball over the keeper when he was denied by a last ditch tackle from defender Kroca who appeared from nowhere.
At the other end Randolph was only called into a couple of comfortable saves from Clancy and Silva. The only real scare the Well keeper had was after he had mis hit a clearance and the ball for Liam Kelly but he could only snatch his shot over the empty goal from 25 yards out.
At the end of the ninety minutes it was agreed a draw was a fair result with both sides struggling to really put the finish to their excellent passing moves. Although as I write this I probably think we may have had the edge and possibly could have taken all three points.
