So a 5-1 trouncing of first divison Stirling Albion was followed up by a 1-0 defeat in the league away to Stranraer, the season is already shaping up to be a bit of the usual for Montrose FC. Tomorrow sees the first Angus derby of the year with both teams struggling to find some league form.

So a 5-1 trouncing of first divison Stirling Albion was followed up by a 1-0 defeat in the league away to Stranraer, the season is already shaping up to be a bit of the usual for Montrose FC. Tomorrow sees the first Angus derby of the year with both teams struggling to find some league form.
So a fantastic display in the challenge cup has seen Montrose handed a home draw against Brechin. A well taken hat-trick by John Baird who has responded well since being dropped for the first 3 games of the season. A great cameo from Garry Wood and Stirling were headed home with their tails between their legs.
We look forward to tomorrows game against our local rivals. Serious ctrowd control measures are in place and this will take a bit of fun out of the fixture but make no mistake Montrose will be out to halt an alarming set of results against our Smokie loving neighbours.
With the added spice of Peat, Dobbins & Stein in the team will the new pitch play a factor only time will tell and hopefully at 1650 tomorrow the Montrose fans will be the ones with a smile on thier faces.
What team will Jim start with, if Montrose are to take anything from the game it has to be the same line up that started against Stirling.

Brilliant fightback by the team after some dodgy defending let the Smokies back in and the card happy referee sent off Wood for a legitimate challenge on the keeper. The atmosphere was great at the match today, wish it was like that every week. 3-3 felt like a victory.
