By Mighty Reds December 1 2011 Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva will be out for the rest of the season. The club confirmed the bad news, and quickly recalled Jonjo Shelvey who was on loan at Blackpool
The short statement from the club read:
'TheBrazilinternational will undergo surgery (on an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament) and unfortunately be ruled out for the remainder of the current campaign.
Lucas himself said this on his Twitter account:
“Hi ALL.Just to confirm that I will be out until the rest of season. I am really sad with the news because I was enjoying a lot on the pitch.
I am sure I will come back stronger and I will achieve everything that I dream with the LFC shirt.”
Some players you dont realise just how good they are till their missing .Lucas has been a lynchpin and growing into a world class p-layer for the past two years now .Shielding the back four ,breaking down opposition ,linking our forewards from the back .This is a HUGE setback but one thing im sure of .The lads a heart of a lion and will bouce back even better .
