Imps in danger of going on a cup run after favourable draw
By Nathan Jackson
December 12 2011
Lincoln City are in serious danger of going on a cup run after being drawn at home to Carshalton in the second round of the FA Trophy. City earned their place in the second round after a first round win over Colwyn Bay, and now face the Ryman leaguers as City aim to continue the march to Wembley.

Lincoln City have a great chance of progression in the FA Trophy after drawing Carshalton Athletic at home. The Ryman League team have won their last three matches but are currently midtable, winning 7, losing six and drawing 4 of their 17 matches.

Elsewhere in the draw, there are two all Blue-Square Premier ties, with Cambridge hosting Telford and Gateshead hosting Braintree.

Local neighbours Worksop will host either Newport or Forest Green, whereas Boston travel to Dartford.

Carshalton lost at home on Tuesday night to Lewes 2-1

There was 150 there to watch the game, so doesn't look like they'll bring many to Sincil Bank

To be honest I doubt there will be more than 1,000 at the game unless the price is something like £10 for adults and £5 for everyone else.

Having said that, reading their forum you get the impression a LOT will be coming up and some teams do travel well in cup competitions. Carlisle played someone at home in the FA Cup last season (can't be bothered to look it up) who had only gotten 100 or so at their last home game....but more than 600 turned up at Brunton Park.

Good Luck, Mr Gorsky
