An astonishing 24 hours, even for the soap opera that is Leeds United was completed in the early hours of this morning, as former Chelsea Chairman Ken Bates takes over the helm of Leeds Unitedd. The deal was agreed just after 2 o clock am, and Ken Bates is the new Leeds United Chairman. A press conference is expected later today as Bates fought off late bids from two rival consortiums to complete in a deal that was never even an option less than 12 hours before. Further details will emerge later today, but it is thought that Bates will take a 51% share of the club, and this should rise to total control by the end of the year. The current board will stay in place for the time being to assist with the full exchange..
