Derby v Leeds - preview
By Andy Baggott

Leeds have to wait until Boxing Day on Monday to try and bounce back from last weeks defeat by Reading.  As poor as the result was, the performance itself was a real worry.  Simon Grayson must be tempted to change things around a bit, as the team has toiled recently.

Players likr Adam Clayton, Danny Pugh and Lucciano Becchio are looking off the pace in recent weeks, and the mnager may be tempted to make changes.  Clayton should be safe, his earlier season form shows how vital he is, and without the injured Jonny Howson, he is the first choice central midfielder.  Becchio however has struggled all season.  He missed a lot of time injured, and since his return has not look like himself.  Some of it is down to lacking match sharpness, which only comes with games - however, in the games he has played, he is a long way short of where he  was.  I wouldn't be surprised to see Grayson go back to basics, and use the McCormack/Keogh partnership that has performed so well.

Fringe players like Veyrynen, Nunez and even the forgotten about Forsell may well come into the frame if the boss changes things around.

The other dilema for Grayson is who to start in goal.  Andy Lonergan came back against Reading, and blamed himself for the first goal - on loan Alex McCarthy, unable to play against his parent club Reading last week, could well come back into the goal following last weeks defeat...
