Happy New Year

Scott Harrison's late strike ensured that 2017 got off to  a half decent start with a 2-2 draw at Accrington ..

Hignett has praised the character shown by his side as they came back twice to earn the draw. The four point return over the New Year games  - after the 3-2 win against Morecambe where we contrived to look shaky after going into a 3-0 lead - was very welcome.

Grimsby are next up after their surprise win at Carlisle, and that will give us a good idea of whether the side has turned the corner .

All four goals at Stanley came in the second half.  Jake Carroll gave away a penalty but Padraig Amon's response was to head home from the back post.

The home side regained their lead when Pools failed to deal with a corner, but with five minutes left Harrison popped up to belt home the deserved equaliser.
