Terry and Cole winning fitness battle

Roy Hodgson was handed a brief respite from his selection headache this morning with the news that both John Terry and Ashley Cole were fit to train.  Neither player completed a full training session, which was open to local spectators in Krakow where the England squad are based, but both players were able to do some training.

Providing there are no late set backs, both Terry and Cole should be fit for selection as England get their Euro 2012 campaign off to a start on Monday in Donetsk against France.

Both players completed some warm up and light exercises, and Hodgson will hope to have both fully fit for selection on Monday.  Hodgson does have alternative options in Jagielka and Baines, but with other absentees still very much at the forefront of his mind, he could undoutedly do without having to miss Terry and Cole.

In other news, striker Jermain Defoe is expected to rejoin the squad in time for their opening fixture.  Defoe flew home yesterday after news of his father's death.
