RamsTrust Statement re Co-op Bank RamsTrust has this morning been in contact with Mark Taylor from the Co-operative Bank. He has confirmed receipt of all the online petition forms, and a fair number of forms through the post in response to the RamsTrust campaign.
He stated that the fans' concerns have been noted, and will be taken into account when the Bank considers the situation with Derby County Football Club.
In response to the specific requests stated in the petition, he stated that the Bank cannot force the shareholders to sell and would not be drawn into discussions on potential buyers for reasons of confidentiality. For the same reason the Bank is not currently in a position to make a public statement to supporters of the club.
Despite this reaction, RamsTrust are certainly aware of interested parties, and believe that should the Chairman, or the Bank, be prepared to sit down and talk through the position with these parties, then a resolution to the current impasse may be forthcoming.
The Trust feel that the Bank, as a Co-operative organisation, have an obligation to the community they serve to continue to press for action regarding the current ownership of the club - to safeguard the future for Derby County Football Club, which should be regarded as an important community asset to the entire region.
