Two years ago, almost to the day, Coventry City were celebrating returning 'home', and things were looking like improving....
Fast-forward twenty-four months, the club are twenty-third in the same division, and look deeper in the mire than ever.
Staying at the Ricoh is looking dubious, the chances of every finding a plot of land in Coventry seems minimal (With every square inch being given over to building student residence), and Wasps look like knacking our Academy status with their re-building plans.
Kent and Armstrong are now both on loan at Barnsley; summer target Leon Clarke, and last years 'Player Of The Season' John Fleck, are at Sheffield United; Jacob Murphy and James Maddison were both temporarily at Norwich (The latter has been sent to Scotland), with their replacements having not quite filled the gaps yet.
Tony Mowbray, having ditched Aaron Martin - who looked more than decent at this level - has revealed the club missed out on half-a-dozen central defenders over the summer, and the ease with which some goals are being conceded can only make supporters wish at least one of those potential deals had come off.
What a time to be a Coventry City supporter....
