Another Late Defeat, League One Beckons....

Having had the dis-pleasure of having a tooth removed today, I can confirm that watching Coventry City is actually more painful. Far more painful (Though slightly less expensive).

The 'Call To Arms' message from the Coventry Telegraph was largely ignored, with those that dallied, then decided not to go, knowing they made the right decision as Coventry City snatched defeat from the jaws of victory for the second time in five days. Relegation beckons.

This match was notable for the miracle that was Clive Platt trapping a 40-yard pass, though sadly it was only the hoof out of the Coventry CIty net after Ipswich had been gifted their opening goal - Clarke and Wood's dismal errors gave Emmanuel-Thomas said present.

Coventry City equalised five minutes later after a handball in the area led to the award of a penalty, rather than the goal McSheffrey scored anyway. Clingan beat the sometimes ropey looking Arren Lee-Barrett to make the scores 1-1.

On the stroke of half-time, rather than conceding a late goal, Coventry City actually scored one, with Deegan tasking his tally for the season to three - the joint highest score in league fixtures in the team (Now the joint highest, as the highest scorer has left).

Ipswich were awarded what a fair few thought was a soft penalty in the 64th minute, which was scored by Chopra, but not before Murphy had made a decent stop from Martin's original shot. Chopra showed he wanted it more by racing onto the saved effort, leaving Coventry's defenders yeards behind.

New signing Norwood came on for Bell (Who he should probably have started instead of anyway) to make his debut, but seemed to spend too much time sitting/falling on the floor.

A garbage display throughout from the match official (Miller) saw Coventry City denied two blatant penalties, with both Norwood and Nimely clearly fouled in the area, but the orange-shirted divot obviously decided two penalties were enough for one match.

As supporters slowly made their way to the exits, the all too predictable late winner was scored in injury time, with Chopra grabbing his second of the game - and the majority of Coventry City supporters admitting this is a defeat to far, and that League One beckons (Not to mention the fact Thorn should probably leave now).

TEAM: Murphy, Clarke (Willis 84), Wood, Keogh, Cranie, Clingan, Bell (Norwood 65), Deegan, McSheffrey, Nimely, Platt. SNU: Dunn, Baker, Eastwood.
