This was a 'must-win' game according to Chris Coleman, though typically - despite fielding new signing Leon Barnett - a win never looked likely, despite Leon Best's fourth minute opening goal.
Bywater had a nightmare in the Derby goal, but it rarely mattered as Coventry decided against exploiting him, despite him dropping every cross that came into his penalty area.
Hulse was afforded far to much time for Derby's equaliser four minutes into the second half, and Coventry's defence switched off for what turned out to be Derby's winner too. It could have been worse as Coventry City were third to every ball, making Derby look like a half-decent side, despite the fact they're not.
Konstantopolous, probably at fault for Derby's second goal, did save a harshly awarded penalty after substitute Croft's lame fall in the area, but the second goal for the away side was never going to come. Coventry's one corner to Derby's tally, which went into double figure, tells its own story.
Robbie Savage added another to the list of reasons to hate him, with his pathetic dive resulting in a second yellow card - and a red - for seventeen year old Jordan Clarke. Soon after, Savage left the field due to a nose-bleed, though sadly it wasn't because somebody had belted him one.....
My dislike for Dion Dublin, expert analyst for the night on Sky, lessened slightly after he blasted Savage after the match, stating: 'I don't like the guy, I can't stand him. People know that and I'm not afraid to say it. He should be ashamed of the part he played in getting [Jordan Clarke] sent off'. Dion is absolutely right, though I expect Savage will merely wander around with that stupid, smug smirk, that a queue of people would really like to wipe off his stupid smug face....
