Daryl Clare has now netted 6 times in his 4 appearances for Chester City after a fantastic hat trick against Margate yesterday.

City started brightly and Ryan Sugden running in from the right made it 1-0 after just 6 minutes with a fine solo effort.

It wasn’t long until it was 2-0 with Daryl Clare scoring a real poachers goal from short distance. Just 5 minutes later a great strike from Clare but Chester into a 3-0 lead.

After 31 minutes a Jon Brady cross was met by defender Wayne Hatswell who headed past Mitten to increase the lead to 4-0. City continued to attack and produced a number of long shots and corners.

Margate’s former midfielder John Keister scored at the other end only to see the referee’s assistant raise his flag for offside.

The score remained at 4-0 till midway though the second half when Daryl Clare powered though before firing in to the top right hand corner past Mitten.

Chester eased off in the second half and brought on Mark Beesley and Michael Twiss who are both coming back from injuries.
