Chelsea FC
Champions Go Marching On

Ever since that horrendous first half at home to Burnley, Chelsea have not just found their feet, but are now going from strength to strength. In a contest between the last two English champions, the away team prevailed with a goal either side of the interval, thereby securing their fourth straight win over the Foxes in all competitions. First Azpilicueta again produced a sumptuous cross for Morata to expertly head home from close range, and then Kante drilled a low speculative drive beyond the despairing dive of Schmeichel, after the hosts had failed to close him down.

Tibo Courtois needlessly conceded a spot kick which Jamie Vardy duly dispatched which led to a nervy half hour finale, but Chelsea could have made life easier for themselves if Willian had been able to convert a couple of late chances. Fortunately they didn't prove to be costly. It was good to see Hazard return as a substitute and to see new acquisition Zappacosta introduced to the fray. Morata is certainly looking lethal from headers and the champions are now ascending the English charts once more. They now have a home fixture in the Champions League followed by the visit of hot and cold Arsenic next Sunday. Can the Conte juggernaut continue into September? Why not?
