COME ON CHELSEA
Rumours abound last night that FINALLY a certain hustler Gary Cahill, for me not worth the transfer fee AND certainly not worth 80k a week, travelled down to The Bridge to undergo his medical and no doubt Chelsea, who love a big show, will parade Cahill prior to today's kick-off, subject to a successful conclusion to said medical.
Josh McEachran's loan to Swansea has been finalised and he will move to The Liberty Stadium on Monday for the rest of the season.
Gael Kakuta, who was on loan at Bolton has now moved to French club, Dijon.
Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou both scored for the Ivory Coast as they beat Tunisia 2-0 in their first ACN warm-up match. Didier's goal was his 50th for his country.
Sunderland arrive at The Bridge, rejuvenated under the leadership of Martin O'Neill whose last visit to The Bridge saw his Villa side beaten 7-1.
Sunderland themselves conceded seven almost two years to the day, then scored a shock victory at The Bridge last season winning 3-0, condeming Chelsea to their worst home performance of the season.
Danny Sturridge, who scored at the Stadium of Light, with that cheeky back heel back in September, is expected to return, alongside Torres, who although playing very well, is desperate to get back into the goalscoring habit.
If Torres and Sturridge line-up together, please, please let Mata start just in behind.
