Burton are in the same neck of the woods again on Tuesday as they once again travel south to Grays Athletic. A win could send the Brewers into the top half of the table, but 4th in the league Grays will provide very tough opposition.
Earlier in the season, this game would be seen as almost impossible for the Brewers. Grays were top of the table and unbeaten. But now Grays have been greatly underachieving causing them to slip to 4th in the Conference, 10 points off top spot.
Influencial captain Darren Stride returns after suspension. Andy Corbett returns after recovering from illness. Nigel Clough should have a full strength side to choose from. Christian Moore may be available if he completes his loan move while Andy Todd, Dale Anderson and Lee Ayres may not be available if they leave the club on loan.
Previous encounters with Grays have been less than encouraging. Last season the two sides met in the FA Trophy semi final. In the first leg at Grays an impressive Grays side tore apart the Brewers defence and won the game 5-0! In the second leg Burton performed better but not nearly enough better. Grays won 2-0 giving them a whopping 7-0 aggregate victory.
In the first game in the conference this season, the sides met at the Pirelli Stadium and the Brewers earnt a 1-1 draw which was a fair reflection on the game.
A trip back to Grays could bring back some bad memories for the Brewers but hopefully Kris Taylor and Chris Moore will inspire Burton to a emphatic victory... 7-0 would be nice!
COME ON YOU BREWERS!
