Home Is Where The Hart Is As Joe Signs In

By Burnley FC
August 7 2018

Burnley Football Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Joe Hart as they add to the international pedigree at Turf Moor.

The England goalkeeper has joined the Clarets for an undisclosed fee on an initial two-year contract after ending a trophy-laden 12-year stay at Premier League champions Manchester City.

The arrival of Hart strengthens the Clarets’ impressive goalkeeping ranks following the injury sustained by Nick Pope at Aberdeen last month.

Pope’s dislocated shoulder is set to keep the 26-year-old – who made his England debut in June ahead of going to the World Cup finals – on the sidelines for a spell.

But the arrival of Hart, 31, adds even more international experience to Burnley’s squad as he competes with Tom Heaton and Anders Lindegaard for a starting spot.

A decade plus at Man C.
Loaned out here and there.
Over rated imo, decent enough keeper but nothing special.
Will be able to do a job, but if Heaton or Pope don’t return between the sticks and it comes down to goal difference at the end of the season???

Not a Hart fan, sorry.

So many choices. I think keepers are lucky they generally seem to have a longer playing life that the rest so maybe they will all rub along until one leaves at Christmas

He's England's number 3.

Good luck Joe. Never rated you until Thursday but thought you looked pretty comfortable and gave those around you confidence

I thought he was no 5. It was Pope who went to the WC and Heaton who was in the 28 efore they left.
