Yesterday Luton Town boss Mike Newell blasted City for there approach for Luton Town’s star striker Steve Howard. The Hatters boss told Luton Today

City made contact with us today about Steve Howard and were told he is not for sale.

Newell went on to say in the interview that

"We are not happy with the way they went about it, they made their interest public before speaking to us and the club will be making some sort of complaint about it to the Football League."

The Hatters boss then went on to how Luton had received a number of similar experiences last season when the club were in administration when other clubs were trying to get players on the cheap. He said

"We thought that sort of thing would stop now but it doesn't seem to have done."

This could mean that city’s new boss Brian Tinnion could land himself in hot water with the football league after just one month in his new job. This type of publicity will not be good for Tinnion if he aims to land any new players before the start of new season.

In other news City will take an 18 man squad to Newport tomorrow for Brian Tinnion first game in charge for a pre season friendly against Newport County. The squad will contain both Paul Heffernan and Bradley Orr as well as out of contract defender Matthew Hill.
