Steve Claridge training at the Albion
By Cian Duffy
November 11 2004
Fomer Leicester City striker Steve Claridge is training with the Albion squad this week, and may travel with the club to the West Ham match on Saturday, according to the club site
The 38 yeard old front man, who is currently a free agent after leaving the player/manager post at Worthing, is being lined up as a temporary replacement for defender/striker Adam Virgo, who is still injured. As John Piercy has permanently left the club through illness, the board can presumably afford to pay Claridges wages, and as he is not attached to a team, no major signing-on fee would be required.

Claridge will not be McGhee's first signing of the season - despite extremely low funds being available, he has brought Jarrett, Currie, Molango and Nicolas to the team this season.
