Millwall V Blues preview:
By Carly Goodwill
January 8 2011
Blues are travelling to Millwall today, to conitnue their FA cup campaign. Blues will be going into the game with high morale after securing their first away win of the season at Bloomfield Road on Tuesday night.

Blues have a busy time ahead, with the Carling Cup semi-final first leg agains West Ham next week, and a premier league match against Villa, with this in mind McLeish may have to make some changes to the team. Jordan mutch is back from his loan spell at Watford and may make the squad, Lee Bowyer will be missing the game due to his 3 game suspension (this being game no.2). McFadden and Valles are both out due to injuries.

First Team Coach Peter Grant stated in an interview:
"It was fantastic to win our first game away from home in midweek against Blackpool. There have been games away from home that have been disappointing not to win, like Bolton when we were 2-0 up and comfortable and then we got two shocking decisions against us and we came away from there as if it was a defeat. The other night we felt we could have had four or five in the first half. The second half, Blackpool were excellent but we still could have scored two or three, so to get the late winner was massive and when you look at the table, it makes it a bit easier. When you are in that bottom three, there is always a bit of pressure that comes with it.  But now we've got a massive week coming up starting with the cup game against Millwall.I went to watch Millwall against Derby the other day and they were excellent and they could have been 4-0 up at half time. I've seen them a few times, they are very well organised and have only conceded two goals in eight games, that's great form in the Championship and the manager Kenny Jackett has done very well there. His players have responded to him and there are some very talented boys there and we will have a right tough game. That's what I said to the manager, if you don't prepare for that one right, you could end up with egg on your face, because I know Kenny will be thinking he has got an opportunity."
The last time Blues and Millwall met in the FA cup was in 1957, again an away tie, and Blues came out with a 4-1 victory. There have not been many meetings between the two teams over the last few years, but Blues hold the better stats, undefeated in their last 4 visits, Blues last defeat to Millwall, away was in 95/96 season when we lost 2-0.
The referee in charge of the game will be Lee Probert, based in Wiltshire, he has been in charge of 17 games this season, producing 49 yellow cards and 5 reds. he will be assissted by, David Richardson from West Yorkshire and Mathew McLaughlin from Bedfordshire.
