Barnsley v Norwich Preview

By Red Army

Barnsley entertain Norwich City at Oakwell on the back of that fantastic 3 – 0 win at Birmingham.

Norwich themselves come in to this game on a high after beating Brentford 5 – 0 last week. It was a much needed win for former reds legend Alex Neil who had come under pressure following a run of bad results.

Barnsley themselves had been on a bit of a bad run but will be hopeful of recreating their away form at home. Their last victory at Oakwell was in August and since then they have endured a seven match winless run.

The reds will be looking for their first victory over their visitors in 12 games. Their last victory was in August 2000 when Lee Jones (remember him?) bagged the only goal at Oakwell.

Head coach Paul Heckingbottom will be tempted to stick with the same side that beat Birmingham last week and I for one think that he should.

One man who is unavailable to Hecky is Marley Watkins who is serving his second match of a three match ban following his stupid sending off against Forest.

For Norwich, Matt Jarvis remains side-lined with a knee injury.

Reds fans lets have your predictions for this one. Can we make it two wins on the spin or will the premiership quality of Norwich’s squad prove too much for us?

I think last week will have done us the world of good and I’m going for a 3 – 1 win for the super reds.
