By Arch August 13 2010 So Bob Bradley has quit as coach of USA and his next stop is Villa. Wow what a step into the unknown that will be for everyone involved.
If Bradley is the next Villa manager it will either be an inspired choice or an unmitigated disaster.
Bradley is no doubnt an intelligent coach well versed in man-management but his experience of the theatre in which Villa perform i.e. Premier League and Europe is minimal. Will that be a hinderance or a breath of fresh air?
Well we must give him a chance and it will certainly be interesting - and different.
Before taking over the national team in December 2006, he previously coached in the American college leagues and later in Major League Soccer managing Chicago Fire, MetroStars and Chivas USA.
His son Michael plays for Borussia Monchengladbach in Germany.
Lewy makes a very good point.
Im not so sure that Bradley is coming but if he is then he will need someone alongside him who knows the English game, referees and their "likes and dislikes" players, agents, the press and all sorts of other things.
southgate would be ideal
