Leeds v Aston Villa
Sunday 11th May
Anti climax game of the season..or should that be bad season, for both teams. Who would have put either of us in a relegation fight at the beginning of this season? Equally, who really cares about this match!? Yes, we could go above the Blues, but after this awful year, so what? Have we not got more important things to worry about?!
Villa are 14th with 45 points, won 12, lost 16, drawn 9.
Best case we could finish 13th. Worst case we could finish 16th.
Reports suggest that GT is turning to the youth for the last game with Whittingham, Cooke, Ridgewell and Moore all pushing for places. Barry also returns for the last game after serving his 2 match suspension. Aston Villa (from): Enckelman, Postma, Johnsen, Mellberg, Samuel, Wright, Whittingham, Hendrie, Taylor, Hitzlsperger, Gudjonsson, Barry, De la Cruz, Dublin, Vassell, Allback, Angel, Kinsella, S Moore, Ridgewell, Crouch, Cooke, L Moore.
Oh, and in my opinion, Vassell will be making his last start for Aston Villa!
Leeds are 16th with 44 points. Won 13, drawn 5, lost 19.
Alan Smith misses the game through suspension. Leeds (from): Robinson, Mills, Radebe, Duberry, Harte, Kelly, Bakke, Matteo, Kewell, Viduka, Wilcox, Milner, Barmby, Kilgallon, Simon Johnson, McPhail, Martyn
Villa at Leeds in the Premiership have 2 wins, 3 losses and 5 draws. Overall at Leeds in the league Villa have 8 wins, 16 lossess, 14 draws.
This season at Villa Park was 0-0 Last seasons away fixture was 1-1 (Smith, Kachloul)
Ref Watch: Mark Halsey, 23 Prem games, 5 reds, 47 yellows.
Betting Guide: Leeds 4/5, Draw 9/4, Villa 11/4.
Match Prediction: I said I wouldn't back us away from home so Leeds 2-1 Villa.
Good riddance to a bad season, lets just hope we can re-gain our optimism for the new season and the board wake up and sign some decent players (stop laughing) or more importantly, someone comes in and mounts a takeover challenge.
