Dream Evening In Kiev Player Ratings v Vorskla

By Matt Sadler
November 30 2018

Dream evening for me as we won comfortably whilst fielding 7 academy players, including three debutants off the bench. Hoping for more of the same against Qarabag in a couple of weeks.

Cech - 6. One good save in the second half, otherwise a spectator.

Lichtsteiner - 7. Untroubled defensively, got forward well.
Jenkinson - 7. Solid bar that one time he attempted to step up and play the opposition onside.
Holding - 7. Continued his good form. Looking really confident at the moment.
Maitland-Niles - 7. Got forward and linked up with Smith-Rowe well. Still feel if you play him at full back you're only going to see the best of him down his natural right side.

Guendouzi - 7. Energetic. Got the ball forward. Oozes quality.
Elneny - 6. Maybe I'm biased as I'm not a fan but I thought he was the weak link. Justreally average. Would've rather seen another youngster given a chance. Good pass for Willock's goal, however.

Willock - 8. I was worried to see he was going to be given his well-deserved chance on the right, but I thought he was very good. Looks a much better player than last season. Put himself about, produced some bursting runs and took his goal well.
Ramsey - 8. Class above tonight and a real leader on the pitch. Good penalty for his 60th goal.
Smith-Rowe - 8. Carries the ball so well. Great skill and close control. Scored and had a second ruled out. Great prospect.

Nketiah - 8. Thought his performance had everything but the goal he deserved. Works hard, links up, drives forward with the ball. Deserves more of a first team chance.

Subs:

Medley - 6. Showed his quality on the ball immediately after coming on. Looked good.

Saka - 6. Good moment as he burst forward and got a shot off.
Gilmour - N/A. Not on long.

Sky Sports rated Ramsey as 7 and BBC name-checked him in their reports as having a good game
