Arsenal got through a mainly uneventful 5th round tie v Sutton, there were no great performances by Arsenal players, and MotM went to a Sutton player. Sutton played well, but sadly failed to score, which might have made the match more exciting than the routine affair it became. The only memorable moment was the sight of Wayne Shaw (reserve Sutton keeper) eating a pie. Apparently the FA are now investigating the incident. Enough of this idle chatter, here are the ratings:
Ospina - 6. Got lucky a few times, but did well palming away a dangerous cross in the second half.
Gabriel - 6. Alright.
Mustafi - 6. Alright.
Holding - 5. Some good defensive moments but also poor in possession a few times.
Monreal - 5. Did well for Walcott's goal but was troubled by Sutton a few times.
Xhaka - 6. Alright.
Elneny - 5. Not a great first half.
Walcott - 5. +1 for scoring his 100th goal but was pretty dire otherwise.
Reine-Adelaide - 4. Shocking first half. Bit better in the second half.
Iwobi - 5. Great through ball to Monreal for Walcott's goal, but little impact otherwise.
Lucas - 6. Did well for the opener but was pretty quiet otherwise.
Oxlade-Chamberlain - 7. Changed the game with his pace and drive, but his final ball was poor.
Maitland-Niles - 5. Slotted into midfield.
Alexis - 6. Showed class towards the end.
