Passionless parasite with a ridiculous rug on his head

Arsenal's dire display at Manchester United has caused an outburst of rage by some fans, and although the post printed below is a rant, its a highly analytical rant. It was posted in reply to another poster who had become optimistic about Arsenal's chances after the Leicester City game, now the feeling is, by some fans, that optimism is misplaced.  The post by Shane that Hippo is replying to can be read by clicking on the link at the end of this article, however it is not essential to read it to get the gist of the argument. Article follows:

I liked your theory Shane(When the smoke clears. See link below), I really did. But you forget the malaise that seeps through the club starting from the top where you have a passionless parasite with a ridiculous rug on his head who has never once declared a plan for taking the club forward, in fact seems to have no ambition for this club other to ensure he has access to a few million pounds when he wants it, maybe for developing the perfect tonsorial appliance.

You have a manager who thinks he can win the league by buying one good player every year despite the fact that this has made minimal impact on our standing in the league. A man who is so delusional he thinks that he can win the league or CL with just the addition of Cech and still holding on to deadwood like Flamini, Arteta and Rosicky. A man who thinks the most ineffectual cipher of humanity, Theo Walcott, deserves a huge pay rise. A man who claims he watches hours of football yet can find no better players than those four and yet Leicester find Kante, a man we were apparently watching for two years, and Mahrez and Spurs can find Dele Alli and have a twenty five goal a season striker which we haven't had for years. And yet we have 160 million plus sitting in the bank.

You have a manager who moans about the cost of United's midfield and yet he could have bought Schneiderlin last summer. Who moans about United's millionaire midfielders and yet Norwich, who probably have a squad that costs as much Manu reserves, go to OT and win. A manager who is so shameless he'll use any excuse to deny his own shortcomings.

But that's modern Arsenal. Whereas at City you have owners who declare their desire to be the biggest and the best, and at Chelsea you have an owner who despatches failing managers without mercy, and at Manu you feel their desperation if they don't win the league, at Arsenal you never hear a peep, just the crazed bleatings of useless manager who couldn't motivate a virgin in a brothel and the end of term spin from Ivan Gazidis wibbling on about how we can nearly compete with Bayern Munich. Such a lot of stinking horse manure every boring season.

Great post.

Who is responsible for creating this Frankenstein's Monster of ours?

Every consumer's rights groups have the power within them to fight for their rights as consumers to "buy" a decent product.

It is as if Silent Stan showing the middle finger to Arsenal fans by merely mouthing like Henry Ford informing consumers, "Sure, you can choose any color you like as long as it is black."

Silent Stan is never a White Knight, nor Usmanov is one either.

They are all corporate predator like the Glazer Family, FSG and Hicks & Gillett; like sharks, smelled blood in the water and went into the kill to gobble up undervalued assets like English football clubs.

From paying an average of £10,000 per share to latest valuation of £18,000 per share, Silent Stan has enriched himself with a 80% capital gain in less than a year.

And within 5 years, he will recoup all his £450-million initial capital investment by salting away all the profits into bank reserves, currently about £195-million but set to grow above £250-million after current 3-Year Skysport Deal expires in 2019/20.

Why Silent Stan didn't paid dividends like what Galzer Fmaily did?
'cos he will have to share 30% of it with usmanov.

Why not just salted them away as "bank reserve" to enhance is 70% stock values and sell them all off to a Sugar Daddy or another investment fund manager for £1.5-billion to £2-billion - a 400% capital gain within 15 to 20 years?

Cheers Padre. I wasn't expecting that. I don't even post on here much any more simply because it's all been said before but sometimes my frustration overspills and I can't control myself, as the Troggs would say.

My interest in Arsenal is at all time low, a creeping tendency among many Arsenal fans judging by some of the blogs I occasionally read. I can hardly be bothered with the prediction league either, that's how much Wenger and co. have ruined my love for Arsenal.

Most welcome Hippo, an excellent post, full of passion and analysis at the same time. If Kroeke cared about the club he would get rid of the time server at the end of this season

- until Wenger moves on, they'll always be the also-rans in the major competitions. A club in elite purgatory. Always good enough to make it to the big race, never fast or smart enough to push over the finish line in first place. That's all about the manager. Until he changes, Arsenal fans will continue to celebrate glorious failure.

Great post.

sad to say but the board don't care about the pathetic state we are in. Every excuse wenger has ever presented is gradually being washed down the loo. Leicester and spurs are proving that wenger has been selling a fantasy to us. He has failed and he is a failure. its said that a manager is remembered by his last game.

i give it to wenger. only a delusional obsessive tyrant can still stick around instead of honorably resigning.

Excellent read.

Like you, I was distraught and lost interest for a few months, and walked away from Prediction League.

But it is the love Arsenal FC (and AT denizens) that just keep dragging me back to AT! (Sm128)
