Weve seen all this before - Pulis hasn't a leg to stand on

Up yours Pulis

For the first time since it has become the accepted way (and I use the word 'accepted' in both its meanings - that it is understood and that it is condoned) for teams to stop Arsenal playing, the thought occurred to me that we have seen something very similar in the British game before.

For those who are of a certain age (40+) or those who are keen students of past football history, parallels can be drawn with the 60's, 70's & part of the 80's when the perceived wisdom, the consensus of opinion and the accepted way to stop black players from playing was to 'give them a kick early on and they won't be seen again for the rest of the match. If the first kick doesn't work, the second will because we all know black players have no heart, do they?'

Of course, the language players and managers used was slightly different to that, but it might offend if I repeated it.
I was unfortunate enough to have played at senior men's amateur level at that time as a teenager and some of what was said and done was a disgrace and made me ashamed at times to witness it .

It's not a racist issue anymore, but 40 years on and the message from the Neanderthals like Allardyce, Pulis and McLeish is the same. Ferguson & Man U are not exempt from criticism either. Remember the Neville sisters, Scholes and the like kicking Reyes and others game after game against us, or Fletcher and Carrick this season at Old Trafford?

After the Birmingham game two years ago Hleb, in particular, fell apart and I think that seeing what happened to Eduardo was the final straw for him having been kicked all over pitches up and down the country all season & was the main reason why he agitated for, and eventually got a move out of English football.

How long will it be before Cesc has had enough of late tackles and being kicked all over the place by thugs in this country?
That lad has got more heart and bottle than all the Taylors, Smiths and Shawcrosses put together, yet the FA, referees, the press, media, Sky f*?king Sports and thick, pond life pundits like that k*nt Stan Collymore will have collectively driven out the best player in this country.
And even then they will blame Arsenal for not being big enough to keep him whilst patting themselves on the back for doing such a great job.

It goes without saying that I hope Aaron comes back soon and just as fit, physically and mentally. I'm sure Aaron is a nice lad, from a nice family and hasn't a malicious bone in his body.

If Arsene Wenger said this, there wouldn't be any evidence to the contrary. Pulis has said this about Shawcross, but of course there is plenty of evidence to disprove this.  Aaron may only have one leg to stand on at the moment, as some scumbag Stoke morons pointed out, but Pulis and Shawcross haven't even got one leg to stand on.

Good post

I hope you are wrong about Cesc and that he stays firm. I think it showed how tough he is. If we could go on and win the league it would stuiff the Pulis's and affirm Fabregas

If you're going to feature this I would clear up the bit in bold so the meaning is clear, it comes accross a bit confusing.

Before anyone thinks I am a geriatric, can I just say I was a teenager in the late 70's!
