Airdrie Supporters Trust - Open Meeting 6th July

In light of recent developments at the football club and on the back of discussions with the Ballantyne family, Airdrieonians Supporters' Trust have called an open meeting for Thursday 6th July. The two main shareholders, Tom Wotherspoon and the Ballantyne family will be invited to the meeting and we hope they will attend.

As part of our ongoing discussions with the Ballantyne family, a number of issues have been raised which due to legal reasons we have been unable to comunicate with our members. We have been informed by the club that the situation will be clearer by next week and a detailed update, including any progress on a new manager and players, will be possible at the open meeting.
The Trust and the Chairman of the football club have now come to a provisional agreement regarding fan representation on the board, with equal rights, including voting rights, as all other Directors. The Trust welcomes this development and we hope to formalise this commitment before any potential sale of the club in order to secure our position as custodians of our club. Further clarification on this arrangement and the processes involved in electing a representative will be provided shortly - we are currently receiving guidance from Supporters Direct Scotland on this.
Following our recent fan survey the Trust has submitted a response to the club and to Supporters Direct Scotland regarding the potential admission of Colt teams to the SPFL. We, and the majority of Airdrie fans, strongly oppose this proposal and have made this clear to all relevant parties. We will continue to lobby against this in any way we can.
This Saturday sees the launch of our 4th Annual KitAid appeal, with the offer of free Under 16 Season Tickets again being funded by BSB Structural and the Trust. We would urge all fans to get behind this initiative as you have done in the past. Last year was our most successful year to date, with over 7500 amount of strips being donated to KitAid - we are optimistic that with your continued support that we can continue this success.
Notice of a venue and time for the meeting on Thursday 6th July will follow as soon as we have confirmation from the venue. We hope to see as many of you there and at any of the Trust events this weekend as possible.
The situation remains fluid and we will always endeavour to share information with our members as soon as possible.
