One of the problems with a 10 team league is that the tougher matches seem to come around to quickly, a win last week followed by Livingston this week, a win two weeks ago followed by Brechin away on the Tuesday, ultimately we hope we can get a few more wins before the end of the season getting a run of wins going would be even better, but there are no easy games for us in this league.
Last weeks suprising win yes suprising win against bottom team Stenhousemuir saw Chris Mac extend his lead by a single point at the top of the prediction league, selecting 2-1 wins for Airdrie ever game seems to be (suprisingly) paying of this season, can anyone knock him off top spot with seven games to go?
Would it suprise anyone to know that Airdrie fans think we're going to get gubbed today? It's one of the things about the prediction league I think it shows a level of honesty that isn't shown on the forums.
Re: Prediction League Game 30 Livingston Vs. Airdrie
Got my result prediction right two weeks in a row and am now moving up the League. That is more than I can say for the team who stagnate in 5th place. What on earth was Mensing doing at the first goal? Why put Gorman into a fankle so that he tries to be clever instead of both of them putting safety first decisions in the 2nd minute. Why does Russell lose possession but nobody blocks the guys run into the box for a shot which rebounds to an unmarked guy? Could have been three or four down and yet Gorman( Yes in their box) had a great chance before they scored. Looked all over but a good free kick from Conroy( Goalie looked a bit slow) meant it was something to play for. First 15 minutes of second half was pressure on their defence, with good flank work by Stewart/MacDonald but when no equalizer came( Conroy did hit the bar) you just sense what then took place. Defence in an "after you claude" step off and it was 3-1. Yet again Cadden came on as a sub, had a flashing shot and then left Rohan sitting on his back side as he tried to kick the shot out. Late and deserved penalty foul on Russell saw Ryan hit 20th goal. Now conceded 59 goals in a season where our two main forwards could finish on 20+. Hard to award pass marks but Stewart deserves it. Ryan left isolated so often and Mensing/McGregor should just go now along with DOF and Wilson. May watch Scotland tomorrow to see if they are just as bad. Reasonable away support yet again but will be glad to see Livingston go up and we will not be following them
