Mini, I think we are promising acquisition at the right price and in the right place, we have potential to reach the Championship and stay their with money put in, we've a big ground and space to expand it on up to maybe 20-25k with a full rebuild. We are based on a good footballing corner of the World, Everton, Lpool, Manchester region
sides, Pie in the sky at present but we can dream.
But the dream of really large crowds never came true even when we were consistently playing very attractive football and on the verge of getting into the top league.[/quo

Agreed, like I say pie in the sky, if it we're gonna happen it was back then,
Dont agree, the world of foreign investment is a very modern trait. A Chinese investor could well invest now, but in 1996 modern China was mearly a fishermans importers dream.
Investment could very much happen, not big crowds though.
Look at Bournemuff, Brighton, Swansea, Hull and in the championship Burton, Brentford all clubs who at some time in the recent past have been worst off than us in terms of finance, gates, league position, the difference, investment. Too right the Chinese connection is all about MP getting Chinese investment into the club, they are the only ones who will look at a 'small' club and realise the potential, the Europeans and Americans would not be interested in us. I doubt there are any Rovers fans out there with deep pockets, PJ being the last and look at the flak he got.
MP is developing the club into a saleable commodity, he would not be spending his time with the Chinese if he thought nothing would come of it, why do you think so much effort has gone into Solar Campus and the hospitality areas of the ground.
Footballers investing into clubs, don't make me laugh, they do not have the finance and investors are always looking to turn a profit.
Size of crowd in the modern game is no longer significant, its all about TV money and advertising, even for the big clubs they get more from shirt sponsorship than they do in gate receipts.
Most of the players know that come the end of this season they will be released as if they don't get us promoted this season clearly they need to be replaced, if we do get promoted most will not be good enough for league 2, look at FGR, bottom of the league.
I think as a team we have become too predictable, lack confidence, and the fear of losing is causing us to play far too defensively, Micky choses the team and the tactics but once the players cross the line its down to them to perform.
I'm convinced we will come good, disappointed that we are not running away with this league as I have not seen any team playing consistently well, the league is still there for the winning.
If what has been said is true and MP announces some investment, and we are talking a minimum £3m each season in this division, then all will turn out fine and we could still achieve the aim of championship football, and from there anything is possible.
based on the league table, most of those played so far are not good enough for the National League!
Just trying tiebreak the record
