Let's hope this is Wenger's last season. I don't want a manager who thinks fourth is a trophy.

A great result, no doubt, but it's the same old same old season after season.

I know there are some terribly fickle fans on here who suddenly think this team is amazing because it beat Spuds, many of those same fans were expecting Spuds to be fifth by now. If so there's nothing too unexpected about us beating them 5-2 is there?

Now all of a sudden Wenger is suddenly going to spend vast amounts of money on quality players. Why?

In an interview at the weekend he gave his usual standard response about teams spending vast amounts of money on players. We make a pound and we spend that pound, his words. So if we are off to buy Gotze, Hazard and whoever else I suspect we'll be selling some players too. RVP possibly?

Insulting other fans just because they don't have the same views is childish and non-productive. It's what PHW does. That's the sort of company you foul-mouthed fans are keeping.

It's great fun to call Celine a numpty and so on. I'm sure those that do feel so snug in their righteousness. But let's look at the bigger picture. Arsenal have been in paralysis now for several years. One win against Spuds doesn't change that.

The upside of this sort of victory is the confidence this should instill in the team. It's a double confidence in a way because they came from 2-0 down, not something we're renowned for of late, and not only did they win but they won easily by a three goal margin. That should be enough to fire them up for the next few fixtures at least.

If that doesn't, then one has to ask what will?
