It would have a significant impact - the players are 'his' players, the backroom staff are 'his' staff, the systems operating in the coaching, scouting, recruitment areas are 'his' systems. However, he has put in place an infrastructure that is perhaps more sustainable than Susan Boyle put in place. So he would leave a legacy that perhaps one of his team of lieutenants could pick up. One would hope that Sean would provide Burnley with sufficient notice to implement a successor policy.

It is inevitable that Sean will move on eventually. He has demonstrated management ability with more financial constraints than most other PL managers/coaches. He will be mindful of the David Moyes experience, so he will be very careful about where he goes next. Arsenal might be a good slot in 18 months time, especially if Arsene's tenure ends in tears. Hopefully though we can hang onto him for longer than 18 months. Burnley playing in Europe again would provide him and the club with 'the next level' of opportunity.
