Latest Statement From Diamonds for Change

Diamonds for Change last night met with 2 representatives from the consortium of local business people who have signalled their commitment to investing in our football club. Diamonds for Change can assure all our fellow supporters that these consortium members are real and we can assure you that they are serious. This consortium are, like all of us, driven by a passion to ensure the long term sustainability and growth of our club.

Whilst we will not, at this time, be revealing the identities of the individuals involved. The consortium have agreed to very shortly announce their figurehead. Diamonds for Change are confident that the names of those involved will fill all of us with optimism. This announcement will reassure all those who have doubts, that this consortium is undoubtedly the best option for our club.

These individuals recognise the efforts of the Ballantyne family in rescuing our club from extinction. We all appreciate that without the Ballantynes there would be no Airdrieonians today. However, like an ever growing number of us, and indeed like Jim Ballantyne himself, the consortium recognise that a fresh approach is desperately needed to drive our club forward.

Whilst the consortium have assured Diamonds for Change that they have the required funds in place, ready to be invested whenever needed, they will not be held to ransom or submit to unreasonable demands.

With every week that passes the value of our club declines. With every week that passes the regime continues to fail to deliver on its grand boasts and empty promises. With every week that passes our support grows ever more disillusioned and dwindles.

We urge the current custodians to recognise this spiral of decline and we urge them to do what is best for the future of our club and reduce their unsubstantiated financial demands.
