Re: Paid for Worldnet 2015

Afternoon all,

We have finally sorted details for WorldNET 2015, the 20th WorldNET
tournament.

The important dates for your diary are Friday 17th to Sunday 19th July
2015, which will again feature the IFA Cup Final on the Friday night
with the main WorldNET competition on the Saturday and Sunday.

Unfortunately, the cost of hiring the venue for next year has risen
fairly significantly, and allied to the fact we came up one team short
in 2014, this means that the entry fee has had to rise for 2015.

The base entry fee for each team will be £300, with an early-bird
discount available to teams who register and pay a £50 deposit by Friday
31st October 2014. That means that teams who take advantage of that
discount will pay a total of £250 instead of £300, but the outstanding
£200 will be due by 31st January 2015.

The entry form is now available on the IFA website here:

Please note that, as things stand, on-site accommodation will almost
certainly NOT be available for 2015. Despite the final damages bill
being pretty minimal (and two teams who know who they are still owe
money for that) despite their description being of an "unacceptable
state", it seems as though the people in the accommodation office simply
can't be bothered with doing their jobs and are willing to turn away
more than £10k worth of business for the sake of a few empty beer cans.
As a result, I would recommend all teams look at booking hotels in the
area instead.

I will be looking for somebody who has the requisite skills to take over
the design and compilation of the tournament programme. This will
involve collecting photographs, team logos and information from all
participating teams, acquiring advertisers and fitting the whole lot
together into a PDF that can be sent to the printers. Any volunteers
should get in touch with me off-list.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Cheers
Steve
