Trap gave six new faces their debuts at Craven Cottage as Robbie Keane cancelled out Michael Enemaro's opener to earn Ireland a 1-1 draw.

Leon Best, Kevin Foley, Sean St Ledger, Eddie Nolan and Liam Lawrence all started the game, while Keiren Westwood came on after the break and Trapattoni was happy with their appearances.

"I am very happy with them all, though," said Trapattoni.

"We wanted to look at the performance and personality of the new players, and it was important to check on other players for the future. The first half was a very good game and the performance was strong, too."

Trapattoni was especially impressed by the strike partnership between Leon Best and Keane.

"Robbie linked up well with Leon Best," added Trapattoni. "We need players who play up front and Robbie is playing a bit between the strikers and the midfield."
